Special first night of Brighton Fringe event, the Ligeti Quartet plays ‘Black Angels’ for amplified strings and percussion, which David Bowie named as being among his favourite ‘Top-25’ pieces. Plus cutting-edge music by Wadada Leo Smith, John Zorn, Earle Brown and Laura Jurd’s 2016 Ligeti Quartet commission, the Duke Ellington-inspired ‘Jump/Cut/Shuffle’.
