The Jordanian-Palestinian pianist Iyad Sughayer has performed across the United Kingdom, Europe and the Middle East.

Solo highlights have included performances in Manchester, at the Bridgewater Hall and The Stoller Hall where Iyad made his debut on BBC Radio 3; at the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg and, in London, at Wigmore Hall and Kings Place. He has been a soloist with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, European Union Chamber Orchestra and the Manchester Camerata as well as the Cairo and Amman Symphony Orchestras.

Born in Amman, Jordan, Iyad Sughayer received his first piano lessons at the age of five from the pianist and composer Mohammed Sidiq. He made his concerto debut three years later. In 2008 he continued his studies with Marie Louise Taylor and Murray McLachlan at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester, England. After receiving a full scholarship at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) in Manchester Iyad continued studying with McLachlan and went on to complete his master’s degree at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London under the guidance of Martino Tirimo and Peter Tuite. He was awarded the prestigious Trinity Laban Gold Medal. In 2018 he returned to the RNCM to complete the International Artist Diploma with Murray McLachlan, Martino Tirimo and Graham Scott.

Future engagements include his US debut, recitals in the Middle East, Europe and throughout the UK. In February 2020, BIS will release Iyad’s debut disc, featuring the solo works of Aram Khachaturian.
